What do we mean when we say “Alcohol rehabilitation”? Well, it is an alcohol detoxification in rehabilitation centers which is supervised by a doctor and is thereafter followed by a group therapy or psychotherapy in order to deal with the psychological reasons why one became addicted to alcohol. How about detoxification? Detoxification actually refers to removal of the addictive substances in the body in order to treat one’s addiction to drugs or alcohol. This process goes together with the physiological and mental readjustment. This process is a requisite before one could start with his treatment and recovery. However, alcohol addiction recovery is actually very hard to attain. In case there is alcohol remaining in the body, the person addicted would surely continue to crave. Thus, the process of alcohol detoxification must be supervised by a licensed medical facility because when one tries to detoxify one from alcohol without the supervision of a professional is tremendously risky as the patient may suffer severe psychological, physical, and emotional effects.

Joining adult bible study or group bible study may be insufficient to treat one’s addiction. Thus, it is best to visit rehabilitation centers. Among the centers for alcohol rehab are Christian alcohol rehab centers. These centers offer a fine-looking, peaceful atmosphere which is helpful to spiritual reflection and recovery. If you have tried visiting these rehab centers, you would discover that they offer faith-based rehabilitation programs, as they apply Christian principles in order to successfully aid people to defeat the cravings brought about by alcohol and drug addiction. It doesn’t make a difference if one’s addiction involves drugs or alcohol since how an addicted person behaves persuades a lot of persons’ lives. Usually, the main persons influenced are parents and siblings, spouses and children, and also close friends. This is so because this rehab center also gives importance to the necessities of the family, thus, they implicate them during the entire process of rehabilitation, healing and recovery. The program is designed to specially to satisfy what Christian alcoholics and addicts needs. Beside them are usually a member of the professional staff plus a clergy who represents Redeemer Free, Lutheran, Catholic, Methodist, Southern Baptist denominations and Assembly of God. In addition to the presence of the aforementioned is the presence of Pastors who comes from other denominations in case it’d be necessary. What are encourage from the patients to do is to pray. After which, they are also encouraged to meditate on the word of God three times a day inside the chapel. The most important plan is to make the patient feel that Jesus is together with them while walking as they are undergoing treatment with a special divine healing touch provided.

Weekly, an individual meeting with a member of the clergy who shall act as a mentor and shall counsel the patient so that latter will get to know about their new spiritual journey. Also, there is a confession and spiritual renewal done. In this process, the patient confesses to God and another man, the precise character of the wrong things he or she did and swears to turn over his/her life to the Lord. The patient is persuaded to develop his alert contact with God every day by means of prayer and meditation. When the patient is able to comprehend everything about God, what he will soon seek is his familiarity of his will and shall solicit for the power and bravery to carry that out. With the help of these programs, the patient including his family shall become psychologically strong. Consequently, they will be able to survive whatever trials and tribulations they would encounter in a healthier manner and in time, they would emerge as triumphant as the famous saying states “Faith can move mountains.”

This is the perfect time to celebrate recovery.

Well there are three levels of human need: Physical, mental or of the mind, and spiritual. Sometime an addiction can be physical when you metabolism need the ‘boost’ to keep going. But that is interlapping with the phycological. Or perhaps you need a ‘boost’ to help you with your depression, well that’s spiritual.

And there’s a trick. I we want to ‘recover’ to continue in our selfish, narcissist life, well the recovery is going to be worst than the desease. You have to make a plan which involves God. Remember Hannah. God would not answer her prayer until she made a vow to God to give her firstborn Samuel and she did and she had many children after that.

And I think what vow of change of life have I made to God to make God had a lien on my recovery. Have I vowed to treat my wife or husband in more special manner, sponson a child in a charity, or what have I to give that I can part with that will help me, society and those around me. Am I going to be the ‘old Joe’ just sober or the ‘old Sue’ without the nightcap.

Really need to attack the enemy and ambush him on all fronts. And one of them is having a spiritual satifaction that I’m contributing to the needs of society and my family and that will replace the ‘boost’ you need every day and you will become a whole differnt kind of person who for the firt time is really ‘satisfied’ and truly happy. And God likes and will bless this kind of change. May you be blessed. Amen.

    Love,
