The Prophecy And The Mystery
Perhaps the most important division in the bible is Prophecy and the Mystery. In these passages (Isaiah 42:1-6 and Ephesians 3:1-9) you will read about Prophecy and the Mystery. In fact you can read about Prophecy all through the old testament and into the 4 gospels in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and you can read and learn about the Mystery in the books of the bible that are written for and pertinent to the Church the body of Christ, written by Paul. (Romans through Philemon.)
I’m going to touch briefly on both of these words today in this blog.
Prophecy belongs to God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel. In Romans 9:4 & 5 it says, ”Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of the law, and the promises; Whose are the Fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is overall, God bless forever. Amen.
Romans 3:1 & 2 says, ”What advantage then hath the Jew? Or what profit is there of circumcision? Much everyway; chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
This shows that God chose a people..the Jews to be His people, but as we study in the Old Testament we see that God’s chosen people were disobedient often. Because of disobedience and unbelief, God postponed the promises that He had made with them.
He raised up a new apostle, whose name was Paul and revealed to him a Mystery. In Ephesians 3 we see this spokedn of, Paul himself declared…”By revelation He made known unto me THE MYSTERY……which in other ages was not made known….That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs of the same body in Chrit.
There is so much more to be said and learned about these two divisions of history in the bible. Under these divisions are many things to be discovered and explored. Like Circumcision / uncircumsion….law / grace…faith / works….so many other wonderful jewels that we can find within these pages.
Prophetically the Gentiles were to to be blessed through the Nation of Israel, but due to the Jews stumbling and falling, this is no longer happening at this time in history.
At this present time we are in the Dispensation of the Grace of God , so the Gentiles and all others who will believe, are being saved, not through a glorified Israel, but because of the fallen Israel. We are being saved now by faith through Grace.
Ephesians 2:8-10 says For by grace are ye saved throught faith;and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good work, which God had before ordained that we should walk in them.
