Same Kind Of Different As Me is the true-to-life story of these three people ordained by God to meet for a divine purpose. The story has two voices: one of Denver Moore, an uneducated poor man who shares about his experiences as a slave and as a homeless in Forthworth, Texas; and the other, of Ron Hall who seemed to have it all together as a very rich man. Deborah Hall or Debbie is the wife of Ron Hall who selflessly listened and ministered to the poor and homeless like Denver in Union Gospel Mission.
Same Kind Of Different As Me portrays how different poverty and affluence are and how similar they are in the context of the kingdom of God. The rich and the poor both live in this temporary settlement while awaiting the true home prepared for them in heaven. It is ironic that an unlearned, uneducated man like Denver will have a wonderful idea on how to address the issue of poverty and homelessness in the city. After the tragic death of Debbie from terminal disease, Ron Hall felt void and emptiness. He thought that another beautiful woman will come along but God sent Denver to him to teach him lessons he has not learned before.
